As seen from Fatty’s Palace in Burnaby around 4:00pm today. It’s magical! After the jump, find out what was waiting for me at the rainbow’s end! You’ll never guess!

I ordered a test proof of the first 40 pages of Monuments of Distinction Since 1900. I need to gauge things like brightness, contrast, colour reproduction, opacity, etc. before I proceed any further. Basically, I want/need to know how well what I see on the computer screen translates to the printed page. I’m a bit nervous [...]

An early test shot with my Oktomat toy camera. (It had been sitting undeveloped for some time now.) Basically, the camera has eight shutters and fires in quick succession on a single frame of film.

Lest we forget the real star of 14 Giants, here are some classic photos of my kitty from October 2005. Purty!

Yashica Mat 124G test shots. I tried the #1 close-up lens with the broom to see how well the camera could be used for full-face portraits. If you click click click, you can see there’s a fair bit of detail. Not bad for a first run! Not bad at all.

All week around Fatty’s Palace, I’ve found myself doing the dance that Janet does in “The Pleasure Principle” video. It’s fun. I’m better than this guy! I’m thinking of entering a dance competition. No I’m not. Space is big. Is it too late for me to be an astronaut? Yes. No matter. I’m going anyway. Mercury [...]

Make no mistake about it. In today’s world, working with film (as many of you know I am inclined to do) still requires the use of digital technology. In the example illustrated below, the medium format negative was first scanned into the computer at high resolution. I then opened the file in Photoshop and proceeded [...]

My photo book is once again without a title. And a cover. I should know better than to let my excitement get the better of me. I should have known that as it progressed, the book would adapt, change form, and even alter its shape. I should have known I’d be surprised by the book. So [...]
